Jumble, the classic scrambled word game, has been a beloved brain-teasing pastime for decades, providing a new challenge every day. Gameplay:
Jumble is a word puzzle game that presents players with a set of scrambled letters, with the goal of unscrambling them to form meaningful words. Here's how the game typically unfolds:
Directions for Daily Jumble:
- You are presented with four words on the left, all jumbled up.
- Your task is to un-jumble these four words and form meaningful answers.
- The circled letters in each of these answers become the jumbled letters used to solve the game's cartoon clue.
- Click on the cartoon for a larger version, and use the jumbled letters to solve the cartoon clue.
Scoring:
- In Jumble, each letter in an answer has a value of 10 points.
- The game rewards speed. If you solve an answer within the first 30 seconds of play, your score for the word is multiplied by 5 (5X).
- In the second 30 seconds, the multiplier decreases to 4X, and so on.
- If you find yourself stuck, you can click the HINT button. However, be cautious, as hints deduct 15 points (times the multiplier) from your score.
- The key to a high score is to solve the puzzle quickly while maximizing your point multipliers.
Web Instructions:
- To input your answers, you can drag and drop or type the letters into the answer squares.
- If you make a mistake, simply drag and drop or use your delete key to move incorrect letters back into the clue box.
- The active answer square is highlighted.
- After completing the puzzle, you can use the calendar button to access archived games.
Mobile Instructions:
- On mobile devices, Jumble is best experienced in Portrait mode.
- For all mobile devices, you can tap a letter to add it to the first available or active answer square.
- Tap the scrambled letters in the correct order to spell the word.
- If you make a mistake, tap incorrect letters to return them to the letter holder.
- The active answer square is highlighted.
- Buttons will rearrange themselves when solving clues to save space on smaller devices.
- After finishing a puzzle, you can use the calendar button to access archived games.
Button & Icon Functions:
- PRINT Icon: This icon allows you to print a blank version of the puzzle to play offline.
- CALENDAR Icon: The calendar icon provides access to an archive of games and tracks your progress on the current device.
- HINT Button: If you're stuck, the HINT button will solve one letter at a time, but it deducts 15 points (times the multiplier) from your score with each use.
- SOLVE Button: The SOLVE button will instantly solve the entire puzzle.
- RESET Button: If you want to start the game over and reset your score to 0, the RESET button is your option.
